Our names are Ernie and Jan, and together with our teenage son, we live in Pinhoe, Exeter, just a few minutes from Junction 29 off the M5.

We first discovered the beautiful Birman breed in 1991, however, it was to be some years before we were able to welcome one of these amazing little cats into our home.

There is a well-known saying that 'Dogs have masters: cats have staff.' How true that is! Our Birmans are very much part of the family; we can't even book a holiday until we check that their doting cat sitters are available to move in for the week.

Our Birman family currently consists of four cats. Firstly we have a blue-point female, CHESELLE CHAMPAIGNE BUBBLES, who came to us in 2004. Bubbles is a real princess with exceptionally long hair, & a magnificent ruff.

Then comes ADNIOLO JANELZA DAMASKROSE (Rosie), who is the daughter of Nicadaemus Damaskdreams, (Iona) our first queen. Rosie is a lovely seal-point with beautiful markings. who has a very gentle, affectionate personality. She was the first kitten born in our house and we just had to keep her.

Our current queen is a blue-point female,a blue-point female, RONMARIES JANELZALILACSILK, a pretty lilac-point. We hope that she will produce some beautiful kittens for us in 2012.

Finally, we mustn't forget SQUIGGLES, a Birman X, our daughter's cat, who we are looking after on a semi-permanent basis.

We love the Birman breed and were delighted when Nicola Bailey, of Nicadaemus Brmans, gave us the opportunity to have our own queen. We thoroughly enjoy having kittens running around the house, and it is very satisfying to see the pleasure that our kittens bring to their new families. We breed Birmans for pleasure, and only occasionally have kittens available. We are members of The Birman Cat Club.

Bubbles, Rosie, Lilacsilk and Squiggles each have their own page, which can be reached by clicking on their pictures at the top of this page.
