In June 2004 we finally had the joy of welcoming a cute, blue-point Birman into our family. Bubbles was born in Victoria, Australia, in March 2004, and she had already been spayed when she came to us at just 12 weeks old. Early spaying is a widely accepted practice in Australia, and kittens leave their mothers from 12 weeks of age onwards. However, she was so tiny we could hardly see her in the carrier, when we collected her from the terminal at Brisbane Airport.
After completing all the necessary veterinary requirements and paper work we were able to bring Bubbles back to England with us in 2005, and we keep her rabies vaccinations up to date in case we ever need to take her back. Before she was one year old she had flown across the world and she still seems to have the travel bug.

She was initially very shy, but she soon settled in, and we all fell in love with her. She was very inquisitive and was soon at the centre of all our daily activities. She enjoyed a game of 'fetch' which gave us hours of amusement. At bedtime we would throw a small soft toy down the stairs for her to chase. She would pat it around with her little paws, then race back up the stairs for another go. Sadly she didn't understand the 'fetch' part of the game, and we had to retrieve the toy ourselves, before throwing it for her again. This became an enjoyable bedtime routine.
Now she is seven, Bubbles likes to just chill out, either alone or with a friend.
